Hi, I’m Kim Wright


  • Wife, mother, learner, traveller, helper & believer “we’re all just walking each other home.”
  • I love being a twin - I think everyone should have one!!
  • I was born in England, but BC will always be where I live.
  • My favorite things are: reading a great novel, being near the ocean, a good cup of coffee in the morning, and uncontrollable laughter.
  • I discovered photography in high school and have been captivated by it ever since.

I specialize in both artistic environmental portraits and art photography. My portrait work is either on location at my home ranch or at your preferred location. I aim to create portraits that are both natural looking and artistic; ones you love every time you look at them. My other passion is artwork which I create by combining multiple photographs into a single image I use for cards, framed art, home & corporate decor, and photo groupings. My goal is to create art that celebrates life.

  • My current artistic pursuits involve combining multiple photographs so that the parts become a new whole. At the heart of each piece of my work lies the belief that we are all connected. My goal is to create art that celebrates life. Our complex lives leave us needing to pause and reset. I hope my work provides this: a moment to look and to see.  
  • I use the photos, sometimes with text, to create images I then have printed on canvas & metal, or use to create framed groupings and cards.
  •  My big dreams are to develop a body of work so I can one day have a show of my own and to gain commercial clients for my PhotoArt. 
  • Kimages PhotoArt greeting cards are currently available at The ACT Arts Center in Maple Ridge and the Pitt Meadows Art Gallery; and at ChicWinds Art & Gift boutique in Gastown, Vancouver. Also available through my website. I participate in local art events throughout the year. The next one is the North Shore Art Crawl October 3 & 4 followed by the Art Studio Tour Winter Market November 29 & 30 at Albion Community Center in Maple Ridge.
  • I have worked with Maple Ridge Florist; Bouquets for Baba; Artisan Flowers & Gifts; The Virtue Foundation, West Coast Kids Cancer Foundation, and I am on the Board of Directors for the Maple Ridge Pitt Meadows Art Studio Tour.
  • Selected Artist to participate in the Grabenhorst Garden Project by the City of Pitt Meadows May 2025.
  • Seasonal Artisan markets I have participated with include Mission Arts Council Christmas Market, ArchBishop Carney Christmas Craft Fair, Langley Arts Council Holiday Market and more.
  • Artist at Pitt Meadows Art Gallery Christmas Exhibition 2021 & 2022 and 2024.
  • Exhibiting Artist at the Downtown Abbotsford Art & Wine Walk September 2022.
  • Selected artist for Mission Sip & Stroll event 2023 & 2025.
  • Part of Group Photography Exhibition with Langley Arts Council November 23/22 - January 2/23.
  • Two photos selected for the Peggy Staber Memorial Exhibition January 2024.
  • Maple Ridge Art Studio Tour Artist 2023, 2024 & 2025.
  • My specific interests are minimalist and abstract landscapes.
  • My ongoing photo projects include: Scenes from a Playground, On the Road, Hope is A Noun, and Color:FULL.  The overarching theme of much of my work is Hope. The simple beauty in nature scenes; the quirky, sometimes mundane every day vignettes; the innocence of children at play - all of these keep hope alive for me and  by showing it in my work I want to offer a dose of something we can never have too much of and often have too little of. The images I create are my way of offering hope and celebrating life. 
  • I have learnt from a myriad of sources in my practice; and places and people; all have contributed to the artist I am today and I thank all for the inspiration and sharing. My photography career began in the days of film - I worked in photo labs and stores which ignited my passion for the craft. It was a serious hobby most of my adult life while I raised a family and worked at other things. Fast forward to now and I am passionate about coming back to what I was always meant to do.
